Meet Shruti

Shruti Venkat began training in Indian Classical Carnatic singing at the age of 4. During her high school years in New Jersey, she branched out into Western Classical, contemporary, jazz, and musical theater. She was a top-ranked alto in the CJMEA Regions, NJMEA All State, NafME All Eastern, and ACDA All National Honor Choirs. An avid singer of Indian film music, Shruti has been featured in many performances of film compositions abroad. She has also dabbled in composing; in 2020 she released an original extended play.

Shruti graduated from Princeton University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and certificates in Statistics and Machine Learning, Finance, Vocal Performance, and Conducting. During her time at Princeton, she was the manager and student conductor of the Princeton University Glee Club and Chamber Choir as well as a member of the Princeton University Consort Singers, where she wrote and performed a Carnatic-inspired choral piece as part of her senior research in music. She also led Princeton University Swara, the University’s premier Carnatic and Hindustani Classical ensemble.

Shruti lives in New York City and works as an investor at Insight Partners, a software-focused private equity firm. She volunteers at the Brooklyn Youth Choir and sings at open mics on weekends!
